Mr Freedom fabric

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

I tried to photograph the fabric that Tommy has given to Mr G to sell through The Look . It’s hard to capture the exact colours of fabric screen printed 30 years ago - they’re so rich and pleasing to the eye because they don’t look like the colours of today.

I’m really taken with the fabric - the crepe is ever-so-slightly stiff where it’s printed, the detail (particularly the boots) is wonderful and overall the piece could be a flag for the early-Seventies, pop-infatuated store.

I hope it finds a loving home.

Winter looks

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

The weather is closing in in London, I’m sorry to say. Perhaps we have one or two hotties left but my toes were decidedly chilly tonight coming home. Now that the Elaine look is well and truly ‘out there‘ I’m searching out a new winter vibe.

I know Mr G won’t appreciate the silhouette particularly but I’m feeling a little Betty Goodwin is a frontrunner…

Le smoking

Friday, April 16th, 2010

Still working on Friday night at half past eight. I feel like pulling a fierce look with cigarette like Joan Didion and this Facehunter girl… Unfortunately I don’t smoke.

And every time I think of you…

…I think can this be love.

File this one in heroes.

Mrs Gorman maths : Martha Plimpton

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Rather dull Oscars + Corey Haim’s passing = Martha Plimpton and River Phoenix in 1989.

I mean, really. All those starlets can just go home right now and start again. Dont worry, neither of them feature in this.

New Years Resolutions

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

Moisturise more.

And post more regularly.

2009 was a strange year of highs and lows, and I gather from facebook and my google reader that there are many many people out there very glad to put it behind them. I wonder what 2010 will hold. I hope to make headway with personal projects, and not get so lost in work. Make the moments count. Even the dread commute.

I hope my new bike will set the momentum for 2010.
